We offer a few bike rack license plate holder orientation options;For Single Kody Lights Single Position (Rack Down Only): This option has a single mount position and holds the plate when the bike rack is in the down position with bikes installed. This one is great if you only use your rack when carrying bikes. This holder is also ideal for use with our pivoting single lights. Double Position (Rack Up & Down): This option has two mount positions; position 1 holds the plate with the rack in the down position (carrying bikes) and position 2 holds the plate with the rack in the up or stored position. This holder is great when you keep the bike rack on your vehicle at all times.For Double Kody Lights Single Position for Double Light: This option works with double lights. Most double lights are made for pivoting mounts so we only have a single position plate holder for double lights. This adds a bracket to the main light assembly so a license plate can be mounted. License plate light holders - adds an extra bracket to hold your plate light No Plate Light: No plate light or plate light bracket will be included. Add Short Plate Light: Our low profile or short light holder, keeps the plate as low as possible and is perfect for the single position plate option. The drawback of this option is the bottom 1.5" of the plate is blocked when used in the rack stored position (upright with no bikes). Add Tall Plate Light: Our tall holder, is about 2" taller than the short option. This added two inches allows the plate to be fully seen when used with the rack in the retracted or stored position (upright with no bikes). The downside is it

Bike Rack License Plate Light OptionBike rack license plate lights are only needed if you are driving at night time or in inclemental weather. It lights up your plate so it can be easily seen. This light can be powered in two ways. When purchased with a Kody Light we add a two pin connection from the main trailer cable. If purchased separately or as an upgrade it can be powered with a trailer splitter and an SAE 2-Pin extension cable from the vehicles trailer connection. Please contact us if you have questions. Here are some things you want to know before purchasing this bike rack license plate holder. We do have aluminum plate holder options which were designed for aluminum bike racks. If you're interested please reach out to us directly. License plate holders can be installed above or below most of the Kody lights. The license plate mounts to the plate holder using the top or bottom holes of your license plate depending how you mount the holder. The license plate holder fits many but not all decorative plate frames. On some racks, due to the height of the plate holder, the plate and light can interfere with the bicycle. The plate mounts using M6 screws (both thumb and phillips drive screws are provided). When in the stored or up position, with the plate holder is installed above the Kody Light, the plate mounts to the holder on the face of the plate and screws in from the back of the plate. When in the stored or up position, with the plate holder is installed above the Kody Light, the bottom couple inches of the license plate are blocked. Two holders can be used for versatile top and bottom license plate mounting options (ask us and we can provide a discount for both options).
